多摩方面に新年の挨拶をかねて出かける。
高速を使わなかったが二時間弱で到着。さすがに元旦だけあって空いている。
時間つぶしにビックカメラで買いもの。
短いUSBケーブルとかRJ-45のかしめ工具とかケーブルテスターとか購入。
ビックカメラの福袋で狙っていたノートパソコン袋は残念ながら売り切れ。事前のスペックから中身を予想していたんだけど、どうやら予想どおりの機種だったらしい。
10万円のポイント10%なので実質9万円。てことで、お買い得だったなぁ。

remoteからOSのupdateしてshutdown -r nowするとsshで外から入れなくなっていた。
うー。まいった。なんか、ファイル足りなかったのだろうな。
二日目。かなり朝寝ぼう。
ちかくの公園に出かける。歩いていると寒さをあまり感じないけれど、じっとしているとやっぱり寒い。
そんなこんなであっというまに夕方をすぎてしまい、一泊の予定がもう一泊することになってしまった。
家のサーバをどうしてくれる。
やっと帰ってくる。疲れ切った。
親戚とひさしぶりの再会。
原因は、master.passwdのリカバリ忘れという情けないものだった。
mpc860-040101.tar.gzが出ている。
daily build用のパッチがあたらなくなっていたので修正をした。
いろいろmake updateして、やっとこさ作り終えて実行してみたら画面がマックラになって何もできなくなりました。やれやれ...
で、あとでやりなおしてみたら普通に動くな。うーん。
OBS266でwdが使えなくなって困っていたが、UltraDMAなど高度な機能をOFFにすれば動くのでは? と思い、DMAやPIOを明示的に指定できないかとIRCでつぶやいてみたらconfで指定できるとのこと。
confをみるとドライバのflagで指定するようだ。hptideとwdの両方でflagの指定が書ける。
hptide(4)の記述。
The 0x0002 flag forces the hptide driver to disable DMA on chipsets for which DMA would normally be enabled. This can be used as a debugging aid, or to work around problems where the IDE controller is wired up to the system incorrectly.
wd(4)の記述。
The flags are used only with controllers that support DMA operations and mode settings (like some pciide controllers). The lowest order nibble (rightmost digit) of the flags defines the PIO mode, the next four bits define the DMA mode and the third nibble defines the UltraDMA mode. For each set of four bits, the 3 lower bits define the mode to use and the last bit must be set to 1 for this setting to be used. For DMA and UDMA, 0xf (1111) means 'disable'. For example, a flags value of 0x0fac (1111 1010 1100) means 'use PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, disable UltraDMA'. 0x0000 means "use whatever the drive claims to support."
とりあえずhptideに0x0002を指定するとDMAをdisableになるようなので、それを試してみれば良いのかな。

initのパスを入力せよというメッセージ (init path (default /sbin/init):) でEnterを押すとHDDのアクセスランプは点灯する。
hptide0のlost interruptのメッセージは出たり出なかったりする。
ただし、initのパスのかわりに/bin/shなどと存在するファイルのパスを入力するとやはりHDDのアクセスランプが点灯しlost interruptのメッセージが出るようだ。この場合のlost interruptのメッセージは必ず出力される。
HDDやIDEコントローラの設定うんぬんではなく別のチョンボをしている気がする。
NFS bootしてwd0aを手動でmountし、wd0a上にある/bin/shを実行するとnot enough memoryと出る。なんか変だぞ。
userlandが古いのが駄目なのかも、ということでkernelとuserlandを同じ日のものに入れ換えてみる。
う、動いた... もしかしてmpc860のバイナリでも展開していたのだろうか... そんなはずないよねぇ。
朝の時間帯を休みと同じ感覚で過ごしていると時間切れになる。

NetBSD/{i386, evbppc, mpc860} を毎日自動的に作っています。
i386はローカルパッチなし。
evbppcはconsoleパッチ、RTCパッチ、OPENBLOCKS266 kernelをbuildするパッチをあててます。
mpc860はmacppc-YYMMDD.tar.gz, mpc860-YYMMDD.tar.gz, releaseを完走させるためのパッチを当てています。
CCYYMMDD.rej.logは、パッチでrejが出ていないかどうかをチェックしたものです。
CCYYMMDD.arch.log.tail-1000はrelease時のログをtail -1000したものです。
CCYYMMDD.arch.log.gzはrelease時のログ全体をgzipしたものです。
当てているパッチも載せないといけないね。
とか、そういうのを清書してTOPページに置くべきですね。

休み明けで疲れが出ているらしい。
譲ってもらったNWS-3470Dをブートしてみる。
NEWS-3470Dのディップスイッチ設定のページを見て、シリアルコンソールかつPROMモニタで起動するためにSW1, SW2, SW3, SW5をOFFにする。というか、全部OFFにしておけば良い。
最初はシリアルから何も表示されず困っていたのだけどNWS-3470Dの中身のページを見て、ブート時の挙動がLEDで表示されることを知り、カバーを開けて電源投入後の様子を観察した。
すると、LEDが点滅し続けるというNVRAMのバッテリが切れている挙動を示したので、NVRAM切れの対処方法にしたがって、Powerを押しながらResetを押し、Resetを離したあとPowerを離すとNVRAMが初期化したところ、無事にブートすることができた。
ROMモニタからboと入力するとNEWS-OSがブートした。しかし、NISのサーバを探しているのかりトライを繰り返してloginプロンプトまでたどり着かない。
しかたなくResetボタンを押し、ROMモニタからbo /2と入力することでシングルユーザモードによる起動を行なった。
昔はNEWS-OSを管理者として使っていなかったので、どこに管理用のコマンドがあるのかさっぱりわからず、/usr以下がなく、/binが/usr/binのsym-linkであることを知り、色々さ迷った挙げ句に/sbinにコマンドがあることに気づいた。/sbinもsym-linkだと思い込んでいたのが敗因か。
smountというコマンドでmountするのにも一苦労し、mount -t 4.3 /dev/sd000h /usr (だっけ?) で/usrをmountすることができた。
edコマンドが/sbinにあったけど使い方がわからず、やっぱりedぐらいは使えないとダメだと思った。
さて、ここからmulti-user modeで起動するために何をすりゃいいのかが良くわからない。/etc/rc.localとか、そのあたりから攻めるんだろうか?
まぁ、少しずつ進めるかな。
NetBSDを入れるつもりなんだけど、やっぱりNEWS-OSを消すのは惜しい。
HDDの交換をしたいんだけど、SCSIのHDDをそこらへんで買ってきてつければ良いのかな? 容量の上限とかあるんだろうか?

HDDの問題が解決されたので、サーバとして運用してみようかと環境を整える。
WebサーバはApacheを入れるほど大げさではないので小さなHTTPサーバを探してみたところ、thttpdを入れることにした。SSLが使える小さなHTTPサーバは何が良いのだろう?
IMAP4サーバはcyrusにした。しかし、インストール後に何をするんだったっけ?
MailとDNSはqmail, djbdnsあたりがマシンスペック的に適切なのかもしれないが、標準品であるsendmail, bindでいいや。
で、mrtgを入れてみるかと思ったのが良くなかったらしく、freetypeは入れるわxpmでループするわ、ってことで少し休憩。
朝はぼんやりしてる。
たまには遅く寝るってかんじ。
lv, cvsync, wgetあたりをインストール。
cyrusの設定をしてメモにまとめたり。
imtestを使ってIMAP4を喋ってみたり。
cvsyncは落ちるなぁ。
w3m入れてねるか。
screenとirc入れたらほぼ完了?
emacsとかはさすがに大きすぎるかなぁ。
